Restoring Health Through Better Sleep — Education, Support & Wellness Resources for Hawaii's Communities
Learn MoreThe Hawaii Sleep and Wellness Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Kaneohe, Hawaii. Founded by sleep medicine specialist Jamil S. Sulieman, MD, our foundation is dedicated to promoting sleep health awareness, supporting individuals living with sleep disorders, and advancing sleep medicine education and research across the Hawaiian Islands. We believe that quality sleep is fundamental to overall health and well-being, and that every person in Hawaii deserves access to accurate information and effective support for their sleep health.
Our mission is to improve the sleep health and overall wellness of Hawaii's residents through community education, patient support, and the promotion of evidence-based sleep medicine practices. We envision a Hawaii where sleep disorders are recognized, properly diagnosed, and effectively treated — and where every resident has the knowledge and resources they need to achieve restorative, healthy sleep.
Sleep disorders affect millions of Americans, yet the vast majority go undiagnosed and untreated. In Hawaii, the unique challenges of island living — including shift work, long commutes, and high rates of certain health conditions — can contribute to sleep problems. The Hawaii Sleep and Wellness Foundation is committed to raising awareness of sleep disorders and connecting Hawaii's residents with the resources they need to sleep better and live healthier lives.
We offer a range of programs and resources to support sleep health and wellness across Hawaii's communities.
We provide free community education programs on sleep health, sleep hygiene, and the recognition and treatment of common sleep disorders including sleep apnea, insomnia, restless leg syndrome, and narcolepsy. Our educational programs are delivered in schools, community centers, and healthcare facilities across Hawaii.
We connect individuals living with sleep disorders to resources, support groups, and healthcare providers who can help them manage their conditions and improve their quality of life. Our patient support programs are designed to complement medical treatment and provide ongoing encouragement and community for those affected by sleep disorders.
We offer continuing medical education programs for healthcare providers across Hawaii on the latest developments in sleep medicine, including diagnostic techniques, treatment options, and the relationship between sleep disorders and other health conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and mental health disorders.
The Hawaii Sleep and Wellness Foundation is making a real difference in the lives of Hawaii's residents by raising awareness of sleep health and connecting people with the resources they need. Through our community education programs, we have reached thousands of Hawaii residents with life-changing information about sleep disorders and their treatment. Our patient support programs have helped hundreds of individuals navigate the challenges of living with sleep disorders and find effective paths to better sleep and better health.
